MOOD DVD was a collection of videos intended to be played silently in the background at parties or other gatherings. The stills shown above were created by recording feedback passed through a modified Hi-8 Handycam onto VHS.
The VHS output was recaptured onto MiniDV and the “jitter” you see is the result of pressing the “pause” button on the VHS deck during playback. The clips above may take a little while to load—because of the type of motion and color in these loops, it’s not feasible to share them via youtube or other sources. (Nevertheless, some little samples are shown here)
